Do we know that '1 + 1 = 2' through inductive or deductive reasoning?

it's deductive. you're supposing there is a "one" and then deriving logical conclusions such as 1+1=2 from that initial hypothesis, which came out of nowhere. everything we know is very certainly not all inductive, much of the humanities including philosophy and psychology is based on deductive reasoning alone.
