Someone has made a malicious referral to Social Services about us, what to do?

Why do you have to do anything? Just relax and let it p. If this was your MIL she's got problems, she may be going senile or something. Nothing is going to come of it. I know it hurts but it might be best to be the bigger person in this instance and let it slide. You don't need the added stress.
