My Ipod Touch (3rd Gen) isn't working? HELP!!?

Yesterday i was at my pool and i had my ipod wrapped in a towel to keep it out of the sun and not wet. then the speakers stopped. so i dried my hands then got my ipod and i plugged my ear buds in and you could hear the music. then the screen got stuck, you could hit the lock and home ons and could light the screen up, but not unlock it or hit play or anything. so i reset it, no luck. restored it, no luck. then after restoring it, it went black and won't turn on. and i tried to put it into DFU mode and that didn't work either. and i don't want to pay the outragous bill at apple because i know that is expencive.
