Riyadh is the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the world's largest producer and exporter of oil. A fertile area set in the heartland of the Arabian peninsula, the name Riyadh comes from the Arabic word "rawdah" meaning "a place of gardens and trees".
