What does it mean when you find a dead bird under your bed?

i live in Michigan and it is the middle of February, needless to say i haven't seen a bird since october, but when i went into my room, which is in the basement and doesn't have any windows, i found a dead bird under my bed. it had died very recently judging by the softness of the body, and there was no smell. There were no signs that it had been killed, there were no cuts, nor did any feathers seem to be missing, but the birds didn't have any eyes. I have never been one to worry about omens or what not, but this really struck a chord, i mean to get into my room it would have had to come in on the ground floor and then would have to find its way downstairs to find its way under my bed so that it could die, seems unlikely, even less so because birds sparrows aren't in Michigan in February. If anybody has any ideas they would be much appreciated.
